The National Welsh Laboratory Information Management System (WLIMS) solution is a Welsh Government funded project to replace all existing NHS Laboratory Information Systems across Wales with a single standardised solution. The solution covers all existing and additional disciplines and special services provided by National and Health Board Pathology Service departments.

The Welsh Laboratory Information Management System is supplied by InterSystems (ISC) on a platform called TrakCare Lab (TCL). The version of TCL in use nationally throughout Wales is TCL2011 which is managed on a National basis by the NHS Welsh Informatics Service (NWIS) with contractual 3rd party support supplied by ISC as per a contractual support agreement. The ISC support provides expert support and services required for maintaining WLIMS as a successful ongoing operational service.
